A REVIEW OF A BOOK OR FILM: WAR HORSE

I'd like to recommend a film which I've watched recently, called ''War Horse''. The director of the film is Steven Spielberg.

The film is a drama and the setting is the UK during the First World War. The main character is one boy and one horse. War horse tells the story of friendship among the young Albert and a horse named Joey, spreading his ways because of the First World War, when Albert's father sells Joey to the cavalry of the British Army to fight in the front.

The things I liked most about the film were the characters and the theme of friendship. Some of scenes are memorable because they're really strong.

All in all, I really liked the film, and it has got a happy ending. It's only a film, but it's got a strong message.

A FORMAL LETTER

Dear Sir or Madam,
I represent an organization called ''Stand up for the Nature''. I am writing to you because we are concerned about plans to build a motorway in the park area.

In our opinion, the motorway can create many problems. The first problem is that it is not safe, so if there is one near our town, the residents might be in danger, because there could be some accident. The second problem is that is would provoke more pollution. Also, the noise of the cars would also be annoying for the residents of the town. The last problem is that a motorway in that area would affect the tourism for the town. In this area it is better to have a park for different reasons: it is pretier, it is a place where the children and the tourists can play and spend time, it does not generate pollution, it is more economic and finally, the most important thing is that we cannot destroy more natural spaces, because in the end, in the towns there will be no tree or park.

We have therefore decided to take action, and we are going to organize a protest. For this reason, we are sending you a poster and we hope that you will suport us and help to publicize this event.

Hi my little princess,

Thanks for tour message. I'm looking forward to you visit to Banyoles. I'll come to the airport with my mother to collect you on Friday. What time does your fight arrive?

I think you'll like Banyoles. We live near the lake, which is the first largest natural lake in Catalonia and it is very beautiful. When you're here there are lots of things we can do. We can go to the Plaça Major or la Draga. If you like sport, we can go to the CNB (Club Natció Banyoles) and you can tests the canoa, swimming... And of course, you'll meet my friends and we ho to swim in the lake.

No need to wear a jacket. The weather here, in summer is usually hot.

A FAMOUS PERSON: SELENA GOMEZ

Selena Marie Gomez Cornett was born in Texas in 1992. She's been involved in show business since she filmed a program "Barney & Friends" with Demi Lovato. Then he began to fame as a singer in 2008 in a film “Horton Hears a Who!".

 Her big break came in 2008, when she signed a contract with “Hollywood Records” and has since recorded many soundtracks for Disney Channel. Then she created a band, but broke in 2012.

Since then, Selena has had a very successful solo career. She has had recorded 5 CDs and she has appeared in 20 films and 12 series.

HOLIDAYS IN PARIS

Hi family,
We're having a very great holiday here in Paris. We're staying in a modern hotel in the centre of Paris. It's got a swimming pool, spa, delicious meals, big rooms... We're very relaxed in this hotel. The people are very generous and friendly but sometimes I can't understand them because they speak in French. Yesterday, we went to Tower Eiffel. It is very tall! Paris is very beautiful, because it is the city of love. The weather is changeable, because sometimes it's cold and rains and sometimes it's hot.

 Hi, my friends! I'll be 17 next week and I'm having a party next Saturday at my house. Would you like to come? It'll be fun! Lots of people from my school are coming. You know some of them – Clàudia, Maria, Núria, Laura, Elisenda and Elisabeth. Can you bring hot chocolate with cookies? We'll watch a film, then we'll take photos and we'll eat great food.

PROBLEM IN MY TOWN

I'm writing because I was walking in my town with my friends last weekend and my friend stepped on a dog's poops.


I think there are one or two reasons for this. Firstly, people aren't responsible enough, so this action should have a consequences.


We must do something about this situation. Maybe there aren't poops dog in other places. I don't know, but we must definitely do something here if we want a cleaner, more attractive town.

TV HIGHLIGHTS

The highlights of this week's TV was definitely the police series Castle. In thursday's episode, the team were investigating the disappearance of the writer-detective Castle. In the end they discovered that we was kidnapped!

Channel 5's drama series Scandal was also worth watching. In Tuesday's episode, the team were investigating the murder of a doctor. In the end they discovered that the killer was her dad. Exciting stuff!!!

Finally, something which also caught my eye was a film “Crepusculo” on Friday. The film explained the history about one girl. She loves a vampire and a wolf man.

A FAMOUS PERSON: TAYLOR LAUTNER

Taylor Lautner is an American actor. He's in the films “Crepúsculo” and “Luna nueva”. He lives in Los Angeles . He lives with his parents, called Daniel and Deborah Lautner and his sister, Makena. At home, his pet is a dog called Roxy. 

Taylor is quite tall and he's got black hair and big brown eyes. The good thing about him is that he's generous, friendly and funny, although he can also be quite shy.

 He's very active. He likes playing baseball, American football and dancing hip-hop. He also likes creating movies with her friends.
